Trial of Singaporean accused of killing flatmates opens in Sydney

A Singapore student has gone on trial in Sydney, accused of bludgeoning to death two other students from Singapore.
26-year-old Ram Tiwary is accused of killing Tay Chow Lyang and Tony Tan Poh Chuan in the apartment the three shared near the University of New South Wales. The Central Local Court in Sydney was told that there were several strands of evidence linking Tiwary to the killing, including an aluminium baseball bat which he had bought two days earlier and was found near the bodies.
The prosecution said that Tiwary had earlier told police that he had been asleep at the time of the murders. After being woken up by a phone call at 6:30am and returning to bed, he later heard what sounded like a scream and a metallic sounding noise.
Tiwary claimed he barricaded himself in his room and waited for the noise to stop.
Tiwary then rang emergency services.
The prosecution alleged that between 6am and the time Tiwary made the call, he was at the flat and therefore had the opportunity to carry out the killings. Evidence by an expert witness, due to be called, would also suggest that blood spatter found on Tiwary’s legs and shorts would match the likely trajectory of blood from the victims’ wounds, the court was told.
Tiwary, dressed in a dark suit, white shirt and a grey tie, remained silent throughout the hearing. He was remanded in custody until September 13 when three witnesses from Singapore are due to give evidence.

Ahahaa, lucky me!
like everyone said and I second it, staying together has always been and IS difficult. I guess it takes alot of maturity, sensibilities, interpersonal skills, gives and takes, acceptance, and BIG heart, a really big one.
You know, just maybe, Big Brother is trying to tell us something. To everything, there’s supposed to be a reason aiite? Just how much sense you need to have, and the gift of gab @ the right time, rightsituation, and to the right person, to stay in the house. Just look at the squabbling, bitching, back-stabbing and all that’s negative, delivered in the show. need I say more? slashing each other faces everywhere and smile the next.
The showcase of mankind’s cruelty is generating nauseating huge profits! Is this defining our support for such acts????
And the funny thing is(I bet), all or not, most students staying out of their parents home are living the BIg brother show right under their roof; and participating in it.
But obviously, in the case of Tiwary, Tay Chow Lyang and Tony Tan, sadly, nobody won the game. Game of sense and sensibility.
